Artist's Statement

“I’ve been creating these paintings off and on since 1989.  It was a process where I used buckets of water to dissolve the paintings and let gravity pull the paint down.  It created an effect that reminded me of subway walls that have drips and water marks running down them.  Or other exterior walls you see around the city.  The water marks and streaks are also a record of time.  It is a build up of experience somewhat like each of us is a build up of experience.”
