Dear Mail Artists,

You are invited to participate in ‘EMW? an interactive community art project that is part of CAB 2000 (Community Arts Biennale 2000), initiated by A Space Gallery of Toronto. A project sponsored by the Canadian Government, the Province of Ontario and the City of Toronto.

EMW (East Meets West) is designed by David C. L. Cheung. This art project will be exhibited in Toronto during the summer of 2000 (May 13th - July 15th, 2000) with the cooperation of ZEN MIX 2000 a Pan Asian Visual Arts network in Toronto at the OCAD OUTREACH GALLERY.

All mail artists of the world and publics visiting the exhibit are invited to express their ideas about ‘East meets West?by writing, drawing, painting, doodling or scribbling on a piece of 3.5 inches x 8.5 inches paper. The contributions will be attached on a structural installation using ‘steel scaffolds (a Western construction equipment) and ‘bamboo scaffolds (an Eastern construction equipment) as materials, installed by the artist (please view images of EMW work in progress at --------. Updated images and future activities of EMW may be seen on this same web page, please check back from time to time.). The contributions are used to assist the artist to transform and complete this art piece.
